sorrycarlee, also known as Carlee Chappell, releases her new single Notch. She wrote it when she was eighteen, after a boy she was dating told her he saw her as an object. Ouch! What a painful and weird thing to say. Carlee felt totally overwhelmed, of course. This anthem is a reply to him. It explores themes such as disillusionment, self-esteem and empowerment.
Notch has great indie pop production, comparable to that of major stars. It’s absolutely addictive to listen to. The vocals are heartfelt and emotionally layered. I love how they communicate the lyrics.
