Dutch singer, songwriter and producer SYNGA releases her new bop, Goodbyes. The song reflects a situation where someone is trying to seduce you, and although you’re not truly interested, there’s a part of you that still finds it exciting. It’s a battle between desire and logic, and the challenge of walking away when you’re tempted to stay.
Goodbyes has amazing production qualities. I appreciate how the synths tackle nostalgia while remaining relatively modern. They’re dynamic as well, allowing the soundscape to grow quite easily. The vocals have this attitude that keeps your ear fixed on them.
