MUNNYCAT is made up of LA-based songsmiths K808 & Khaledzou. They release their new single, Lift You Up, featuring MC LG (Team Genius). It embraces gospel and hip hop influences. The production sounds great and comes with a solid drum beat, colorful piano chords and loud 808s. And the rap flows are marked by an energy that brings people together.
Lift You Up was written after the post-pandemic era, but the wildfires in Los Angeles changed its meaning for the artists. They were all displaced by the fires in similar ways. With Lift You Up, they aim to raise funds for their less fortunate neighbors who had also been affected by the wildfires.
The money made from this song is going straight to WalkGood LA – a family-led wellness 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. They supply food, water, clothes, and shelter to everyone in need.
