New Jersey-based indie rock artist Marie Haw established a strong reputation as a DIY artist. Her latest release, Carsick, is out now. It features this raw, grungy guitar sound mixed with spacey synths and heartfelt vocals. The lyrics capture the chaotic, emotional feeling of being stuck on a long, messy road trip.
Marie really sets the scene too, singing about details like a nine-hour snowy drive, stopping for gas station snacks, and even puking on someone’s lap – which she used to get carsick a lot as a kid. The lyrics go: “Nine hour drive in the snow, you kiss me on the hood / Gas station candy ring, on your knees asking what I want / I used to get carsick till I threw up on your lap.”
Carsick delivers on all fronts. Carsick will definitely speak to a broad audience, given its vibe. Check out the song below!
