Orah & The Kites are an Alternative/Pop band based in Cape Town, South Africa. They release their new single, True Romantic. It has shimmering synths, driving arpeggiators, and expansive harmonies. I love how the chorus sounds, making you feel completely immersed.
The song critiques the transactional and indifferent nature of contemporary relationships, questioning whether true romance still exists. It was inspired by a late-night debate among band members about the sincerity of modern love. For Orah, the song became a personal reflection on when and why she stopped believing in deep, genuine romance.
