Court St. is the first single from dearest’s upcoming EP. It talks about a time when she was in a relationship that abruptly ended. It caused her plenty of pain. To gain some closure, she wrote these lyrics, which are deeply emotional in nature.
The alt-pop-inspired guitar melodies and supplementary production guide the sound, aligning with the narrative’s tone. Everything is tightly woven together, contributing to an overall feeling of cohesiveness. You can especially hear this in the more dynamic parts, which never are unbalanced.
