Irish singer-songwriter Gemma Hayes recently released a beautiful new single called Central Hotel. The music video that goes along with it is really cool and was directed by a famous director named Alfred George Bailey. There’s also an alternate version of the song remixed by Marius de Vries, a Grammy-winning producer who has worked on big movie soundtracks like Moulin Rouge and La La Land.
Central Hotel is about a fleeting encounter from many moons ago,” Hayes shares. “Our lives crossed briefly, and now it feels like a ghost. But every time I perform it, I’m transported back to that moment.”
Bailey’s direction perfectly captures the track’s dreamlike, nostalgic feel, using Cooke SP3 lenses to build a soft, cinematic visual world that mirrors the intensity of Hayes’ music. “Every frame was designed to feel intimate and timeless,” Bailey says.
