It begins with a stripped-down folk style. It feels fragile, like the moment you first admit to yourself that something’s broken beyond repair. As the sadness grows, so does the sound, until suddenly, you’re in the middle of a battlefield. A full string quartet enters like storm clouds. Drums thunder in, and then it hits: a stadium-worthy guitar solo that sounds like a scream you’ve been holding in for years.
