Australian alt-pop artist yergurl releases her new EP Butterfly Dreams Of A Violet Rose, which features divine protection. Written “on the cusp of exiting a period of darkness,” the track shows vulnerability and empowerment. Its lyrics reflect a moment of clarity, when yergurl began to see beauty in the world again, realizing that the suffering she went through wasn’t pointless, but necessary for her to grow.
There’s a gentle euphoria in the track’s atmosphere, as if light has broken through barriers. Subtle chords pulse beneath swirling vocals, forming a cocoon-like effect that lets you sink in and feel the weight of yegurl’s rebirth. True to her alt-pop roots, the production is innovative but also emotionally sharp.
