After three years of writing, singer-songwriter LA-based kali lu has finally released her debut EP, Two Point Oh (2.0). It revolves around personal moments, but deliberately keeps things vague so that it’s easy to relate to. At times, it feels like your story and kali Lu’s are one and the same.
The project includes five tracks, each of which tries to enchant you. Phoenix – 2.0 opens the EP with atmospheric textures that swirl together, forming a dreamy soundscape. The second song, Muse – 2.0, is gently paced by acoustic guitar. Timeless – 2.0 shares the same aesthetic as its predecessor, but adds strings. Mystery – 2.0 appeals to those who enjoy experimental music. I can only express my admiration for how it has been put together. The closer, Silence – 2.0, wraps up the project beautifully, delivering sentimental tones that inspire hope. kali lu’s voice is throughout the project like a midnight firefly, fleeting flashes of warmth in the darkness.
It’s safe to say this EP rocks. Two Point Oh (2.0) delivers the vibe you didn’t know you wanted. kali lu’s extraordinary power to always amaze proves she’s destined to become a true star. Start listening below!
