Indie Pop singer/songwriter, Rainsford, brings forth a vintage and nostalgic feeling to present day Pop. She recently dropped her new single, Salt. She wrote it alone on her guitar in her living room a few years ago. Unlike most of her songs that start as collaborations with producers, this one came from a very personal and sad place. Because of how emotional it was, she initially tried finishing the track with two different producers. While those versions were beautiful in their own way, they didn’t fully capture Rainsford’s feelings.
Later, she worked with producer Doug Schadt, who took a different approach. Instead of keeping the song simple and raw, he added layered vocal harmonies and helped write a bridge. This brought fresh energy to the song.
