On the rise artist Amelia Coburn releases her new single, Something Wild. It has cinematic string arrangements and a galloping guitar riff that never slows down. The vocals are truly majestic, especially in their expression.
Something Wild makes use of strong lyrics. Coburn says she wanted to reverse the fairytale archetype. “The women in the fairytales I grew up reading and loving were quite often populated with damsels in distress running away from danger or waiting to be rescued. I wanted to flip that narrative on its head. The protagonist sheds the skin of domestic life, bares her teeth and becomes the very same wolf that the old fables warned us about.”
