Saxophonist and vocalist Johanna Linnea Jakobsson (DK/SE) melds modern jazz with singer-songwriter touches. The Net, from her second full-length Don’t Overthink It, is out now. Throughout, she talks about being stuck in repetitive thoughts and conversations. As a means of sorting this out, she desires space, but is trapped by the fact that her problems make her who she is.
I really like the production here, with the guitar solo being one of the highlights. The singing sounds also excellent, as one would expect.
