If you’ve ever stared at a tangle of power lines and felt something both eerie and oddly comforting, you might just get what paer is doing with Power Lines. The track zips past the ordinary, straight into a zone where mortality meets meditative reflection, and somehow leaves room for a dance party in your soul.
When you first listen, it’s impossible not to notice the emotional mud wrestling happening in the verses. There’s a thick, sticky heaviness that feels oppressive, and yes, death is here, but it’s punctuated by drums that land like sucker punches, jolting you awake just when you might be about to sink completely. And then, like some musical wizardry, comes the refrain: “to be everything at once, to be nothing, in the same light.” Boom.
