Alternative R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Swan sets herself apart through her distinct sound. She recently dropped God’s Favorite. It shows the smothering pull of toxic love, which keeps you trapped while destroying you. The lyrics are pure, meaning they are as real as it gets.
Swan says: ”This is one of those songs that wrote itself. The headspace i was in while writing it wasn’t pretty but I can definitely say I’m doing so much better now.”
I love the production on God’s Favorite, which elevates the vocals so well. The final chorus feels particularly memorable, featuring some interesting harmonic layering.
