Polish-born, London-based singer-songwriter Rose White doesn’t do anything halfway. Her style, a smooth collision of sultry grooves and sticky hooks, has this way of sneaking up on you, and her new single, Baby Girl, follows suit.
What’s striking about this song is how authentic it feels without ever sounding unfinished. Rose’s singing carries weight, there’s emotion in every line, but she’s not overselling it. The brass swells at just the right moments, and the drum/bass patterns fall perfectly into place.
