When you wonder if the life you’ve chosen is robbing you of the life you could have had, you feel a certain restlessness. Irish folk-rock duo Basciville know this experience personally, and on their new single Saintmaking, they stop running from it.
“In a lot of ways we’re wired to look over our shoulder at what’s potentially passing us by because of where we’ve planted ourselves,” the duo explain. “This song was born out of a feeling of wanting to let go of that pull and to focus on what’s gained rather than what’s lost.”
As for the sound, it moves with a slow-burning intensity that matches the narrative’s introspective tone. Textured, organic production layers beneath soaring vocals, building toward something that feels both healing and grounding.
