Four words. A compliment wearing a mask so thin you can practically see its real face underneath, grinning.
With her new single, Not Bad For A Girl, Ella Eliza decided that it was time to throw that phrase a farewell party. The kind where nobody’s sad to see the guest of honor leave.
The song recognizes sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do with a backhanded compliment is catch it mid-air and send it flying back, preferably with enough spin that it boomerangs into next week.
I love the production of Not Bad For A Girl because of its anthemic vibe. The vocals sound convincing, having the right energy all the way through, so be prepared to be blown away.
