fae, the alias of east coast native Tanya Negin, is a Berklee drop out based in Los Angeles with a sharp tongue, fiery disposition, and inability to write bios about herself.. She wrote Surface Tension about regaining her will to live after spending all of 2025 viciously fighting to get her spark back. The lyrics are very honest and emotive.
The song’s sound is engaging and playful, contrasting wonderfully with the serious topic at hand. The vocals are exceptional, as they present a convincing presence.
