Lia Braswell’s musical journey began with a childhood spent learning percussion before she became deeply involved in Los Angeles’ DIY scene as a teenager. Her time in spaces like The Smell, Pehrspace, and Echo Curio eventually led to an international touring career and recognition as a sought-after drummer.
Written and recorded with Keir Schmidt while Braswell was in the process of recording her solo debut Rising, If Not for the Chaos reflects the spontaneity of connection that comes from touring and constantly juggling projects. The track builds upon the layered sound of Rising, bringing together elements of electronic pop and steady drumming.
