Queer New York–based singer-songwriter and musician ROREY has received acclaim from the likes of Zane Lowe, LADYGUNN, Atwood Magazine and more. She releases her new single, Temporary Tragedy. It discusses the cost of self abandonment when holding on to intimacy, and what it means to choose yourself. ROREY waited for someone who would never arrive, certainly not on the timeline she’d hoped, and she nearly broke.
Catchy guitar work is what propels most of the sound forward here. Some additional pop textures provide reinforcement when necessary. The vocals are fantastic, sounding warm and inviting.
