Montreal collective Rosier return with, Plus d’amis, taken from the forthcoming deluxe edition of Elle veille encore. The song springs from an archival folk narrative about the fear of losing a mother, but Rosier doesn’t give you fiddles and foot-stomping. As an alternative, they wrap the story in spare, dreamlike guitar work. Things sound quite atmospheric.
Guest vocals from Québec artist Safia Nolin deepen the sense of proximity throughout, with two voices blending into a single, almost choral presence.
