Our battles are not always known to others. They take place in bathroom mirrors, fitting rooms, and when we catch our reflection and remember not to look at it. For singer-songwriter Julia Kate, this internal war began early. As a tall girl growing up, she learned what it meant to feel different and to scrutinize every angle.
But truce, her latest release, isn’t a song about winning that war. It’s about something far more radical, namely a ceasefire.
Together with Rosen, Julia shaped not just the words but the emotional architecture of the song, constructing a melody that encompasses the weight of vulnerability without becoming saturated with it. After she laid down her vocals, Rosen worked his production magic, adding backing instruments that remain in your memory.
