Cydney McQuillan-Grace’s new single Butterflies talks about the irrational pull of chemistry over compatibility, when someone makes absolutely no sense for you and you feel everything anyway.
The production sounds brilliant. It’s airy and harmony-forward, with delicate percussion, soothing vocal layers, and a 5/4 rhythm running underneath that feels slightly off-balance but in the right way.
Fresh from performing with Miley Cyrus at the SNL 50th Anniversary and the SNL Homecoming Concert at Radio City Music Hall, McQuillan-Grace is five independent releases deep and building something genuinely distinctive.
