Mystery Friends release their new single, Break Your Own Heart. Produced by Jordan Lawlor, whose work with M83 suggests a certain fluency in the enormous and the luminous, the track earns every inch of its sound. The synth hook is massive and shimmering and the vocal feels punchy enough.
Break Your Own Heart talks about the moment you realize you’ve been chasing something for so long that the wanting became a habit in itself. The goal, the relationship, the version of your life you felt completely control over. At some point the conviction slowly slipped away, but you kept going anyway because stopping felt like failure and the finish line always seemed just ahead.
Mystery Friends remain next level artistically. Check out Break Your Own Heart below!
