Singer-songwriter Skyrme hails from Manchester, United Kingdom. He releases his debut single, Masochist. It strips away any illusion that trauma can be neatly tied up with a bow, that healing looks like forgetting, and that purpose means leaving your past behind. The lyrics are far more radical.
I love the song’s internal architecture. The chorus breaks sharply from the verse, forming some cool contrasts. It’s precise emotional mapping.
Masochist won’t make you feel better immediately. But it will make make you feel understood. Sometimes that’s even more valuable.
