Singer-songwriter Ava Valianti wrote Sophomore Slump when everything felt too loud and too fragile at once. Still dreaming big, still trying hard, but nothing landing the way it should. The sort of despair that ends with you crying in front of people you wish you had it together for.
The production is a clear highlight, with guitar work placed right up front, cutting out cool, memorable melodies. Valianti’s vocals rest comfortably on top of it all, enriching the whole thing.
