Isolde Molarin wrote Stockholm years before she recorded it, then did something most artists struggle with… she left it alone. Knowing the production the song demanded hadn’t yet caught up with what she could offer, she held it back, returning to it only when the gap had closed. The outcome is an unusual kind of collaboration, one between a younger writer and a more seasoned producer who happen to share the same name.
It was worth the wait. Stockholm is a breakup song in the most cinematic sense, with its wide, weathered sound anchored by dramatic drums, swooping synths and choral arrangements that seem to float somewhere between sacred and overwhelming.
