Morning Star is the fourth single from Pitou’s upcoming second album P2, and it has the extra weight of knowing what came before. The Dutch singer-songwriter uses the track to process real loss, but rather than addressing it directly, she approaches it sideways, through a fictionalized version of the time just before everything gave way. The moment before the surrender.
It’s a smart emotional move. Distance through fiction often gets closer to the truth than confession does.
The album drops March 20th, followed by a European tour taking in Amsterdam, London, Brussels and Paris among other. A run that points to an artist hitting their stride.
