Lefuturewave is a music blog based in the Netherlands. We feature emerging as well as established artists.
This is the thing about fusing rock and Carnatic instrumentation. Most people wouldn’t even think to try. KulfiGirls have built an entire identity around it, and Twist (melted) stands as one of their finest arguments for why it works.
The acoustic demo of the track sounds angsty yet restrained, built on complex rhythm guitar, emotionally wide-ranging vocals, and a long veena solo that sits at the heart of everything. Lyrically, it moves through anger and sadness, and eventually reaches acceptance.
