Sometimes post-breakup songs focus more on gratitude than on heartache. Birmingham artist Danie Groves exemplifies this on her debut single Embers, a neo-soul gem devoted to saying goodbye gracefully.

“I wrote Embers years ago about someone who changed my perspective on what it means to pursue love with integrity,” Groves shares. The experience, she claims, taught her how much timing and honesty matter, and ultimately showed her what she truly values in a relationship.

With mellow instrumentation and a warm vibe that draws clear lines to Snoh Aalegra, Kehlani, Sinéad Harnett and Sabrina Claudio, Embers is the sort of track that rewards a proper listen. Check it out below!
