Dutch singer-songwriter Jim Gardner continues to make waves. He recently released his new single, Hardwired. The song portrays someone so accustomed to pain that love feels like something made for other people, but then someone arrives and changes everything for the better.
I like the upbeat production here, which reminds me of Jeremy Zucker and Shawn Medes. The vocals move dynamically throughout, balancing tenderness and raw power in a way that keeps you attentive.
