Sometimes you hear something completely different from what you’re used to. I got this feeling from Shxdowpvlse’s eagerly anticipated debut EP, Sascha. It takes you on an exciting and deep journey through four songs. Next level work for sure.
The title track opens the project, and the synths jump in your face quickly. They aren’t there to play games, although they can be quite bubbly at times. Tyler follows and sounds slightly similar to the previous one, but now with a sturdier beat underneath and glitchy moments. Additionally, it’s more slowed down, providing good variation.
Umbra’s aesthetic is largely trap-oriented, and I like it. Here too, the melodic work comes across as credible. Mons marks the last tune here and my personal favorite. It resembles something you’d hear in a video game, an appealing characteristic.
As a producer, Shxdowpvlse knows how to present himself well. He’s more than just talented; he’s also innovative in how he approaches things. Great things await him if he continues in this vein. But for now, we must above all enjoy Sascha. What a masterpiece! You can conclude nothing other than that, right?
Check out the EP below. Believe me, you’ll be glad you did.
