Julia Calvin is a Costa Rican/American singer-songwriter. She recently released Allegory. Written shortly after being diagnosed with OCD, the track emerged during a time of major transition in her life. Living in Los Angeles, pursuing music full-time, and navigating a serious long-distance relationship without any clear future timeline left her overwhelmed by uncertainty and emotionally exhausted. The lyrics come from a place of realness.
I love the song’s production, especially how it builds up. The vocals make a grand impression, which adds to their impact. They hit home straight away.
Calvin is one of those artists who always finds the right way to creatively express herself. Allegory deserves much praise. Check it out below!
