Boasting over 14 million streams, 17 million video views, more than 100,000 monthly listeners and multiple songwriting awards, Naomi Jane continues to gain recognition and build an impressive following. She recently released her new single, Passenger Princess. It’s a playful call to take charge and stop letting someone else dictate the direction, summed up by the line “move over and let me drive.” The humor is undercut by a sharper edge, as Jane realizes the relationship she is in isn’t going anywhere.
With fiddle lines dancing around the hook and pedal steel adding a wistful twang, the arrangement brings some Nashville flavour to an otherwise indie-pop frame. It all sounds cool. The vocals are iconic, especially during the verses.
Passenger Princess might just be the best thing you hear today. Check it out below!
