Born Thea Taylor, the youngest of ten in Southern California, carolesdaughter found her refuge and purpose in the arts. Last Friday, she released The Invisible Man. It talks about the chronic and deep loneliness caused by lifelong disappointments.
On a musical level, the song shows off more refined and expansive aspects of carolesdaughter’s virtuoso. Delicate melodies, jazz-tinged influences, and an emotionally rich vocal performance establish a dreamlike landscape that leaves you wanting more.
The accompanying music video deepens the song’s themes through surreal imagery. Painted entirely blue and wandering through a vast mansion alongside two goats, carolesdaughter brings isolation to life in a strangely beautiful way.
The Invisible Man simply hits the mark. Check it out below!
