Alycia May is a 17-year-old singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Vienna. I think her new single, Who’s Real, sounds cool. It may be folk-influenced, but it has a lot of pop appeal, particularly during the chorus. Driven by acoustic guitars and beautiful strings, the arrangement certainly fulfills expectations. The vocals have a certain emotion that you can’t fake.
The lyrics are about realizing that people you trusted weren’t as genuine as you thought, both in love and friendship. It moves from disappointment and heartbreak toward self-worth and inner strength.
Alycia is someone you’ll hear a lot more from in the coming months and years. I’m 100 percent sure of that. She’s a real talent. Check out Who’s Real below!
