Australian pop riser Jordan Anthony knows how to make hits. His new single, Missing Me, is a real banger, but one with thoughtful lyrics. He wrote it after an unexpected encounter with an ex in a bar, almost a year after their relationship had ended. At the time, she seemed cold and indifferent and offered him virtually no emotional support. Later, he heard from one of her friends that she had completely broken down after he left her. That contrast formed the emotional core of the song.
I think the production here is amazing, driven in part by shiny guitar work. The chorus feels very theatrical, which pairs well with the vocal delivery. Seriously, you’ll be amazed by everything you hear.
