Jordan Anthony’s new single Wrong Impression talks about the disorienting emotional aftermath of a first real breakup, basically the internal reckoning of how you could have believed someone was your entire world and then realized, in the wreckage, that you may never have truly known them at all. It’s an inner monologue set to music.
The production holds real ambition. It morphs from a timid vulnerability into a full-bodied release with equal parts tearjerker and anthem, echoing Lewis Capaldi and Benson Boone’s grand emotional scale.
