Aimee Vant has a timeless love for writing. Her new single, Old Soul, is deeply vulnerable. She speaks about growing up without a father, who committed suicide around a year ago. The way she describes her feelings is incredibly brave, and she absolutely deserves great respect for sharing her story. It isn’t easy, yet she does it anyway. I think this song might also offer support to others who have gone through something similar.
The arrangement here sounds beautiful; it begins with just piano accompaniment, with lovely strings added later on. The vocals are so full of emotion that you’re moved instantly.
I’d say: go listen to Old Soul. It’s one of the best songs of 2026 so far!
