Rising alt-pop artist Eva Rose announces her highly anticipated debut full-length album, The Last Laugh (via Nettwerk Music Group), and unleashes her fiery new single, Next Girl. It honestly sounds fantastic. The use of euphoric pop textures certainly works here. The vocals have infectious energy and are most powerful during the chorus.
Lyrically, the song tackles the the brutal fallout of a relationship’s sudden end without sparing a single detail. “For Next Girl, I decided, ‘I’m emptying the clip on this, and then I’m done with the subject matter’,” says Eva. “I was on LinkedIn, and my ex’s new girlfriend popped up… I’m telling her, ‘Girl, you don’t even know what you’re getting into’. Every line is 100% true!”
