Paris-based French-American artist Melissa Weikart makes music to heal, airing out self-grievances and finding deeper answers to the riddles of life. With her new single, Crash, she goes deep again. It explores the complicated balance between wanting to be there for another person and knowing that, sometimes, they have to find their own way. Lyrically, it’s compelling, especially because the situation depicted is relatable.
I love the production here, with a bassline that punches so well. The vocals are dreamy, yet sharp in the mix, making them clearly audible.
