Irish singer-songwriter Janet Devlin releases her new single, Diana. Inspired by the playful lyric “her real name’s Anne, but I say go Diane,” the song began as a lighthearted idea during a writing session with Barter before gradually evolving into a fully formed story. Drawing on her own experiences growing up in a close-knit rural community, Devlin uses Diana to explore the intrigue, humor, and drama of small-town gossip. The lyrics hit the mark.
Sonically, things are compelling here. A brooding electric guitar riff and crashing drums ensure you don’t get distracted. The twan-inspired vocal performance only adds more character to the song. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do.
Devlin is a next level artist for sure. She knows what she wants creatively and brings it to perfect expression. Check out Diana below!
