Hera Lind is a 25-year-old Icelandic singer-songwriter who grew up in London. She releases her new single, Finsbury Park. The song talks about the painful realization that the person you love starts to doubt the relationship, while you still hope that everything will go back to how it was. The lyrics originated from a deep premonition that something was about to change. Hera had been in a relationship for a few months and everything seemed to be going well, but during a visit from producer/songwriter Baldvin Hlynsson, she channeled feelings she was unaware of and processed them into a song.
The arrangement feels very fragile here (which is only good), with guitar leading the melodic patterns forward. The vocals are beautiful, almost angelic.
