Brooklyn-based, North Carolina-born artist Lora Mouna sees music as a tool to show her own vulnerability and how she navigates relationships. Her new single, The Difference, sounds amazing. It has a slow but absorbing build-up that gradually becomes more and more gritty. I like the grungy guitars and punchy drums throughout so much. The vocals over the backdrop are sincere, giving the lyrics an extra boost.
The Difference talks about dissociation, the feeling of being stuck in your own repetitive patterns and finding indifference in them. The lyrics offer a unique harmony between relatability and complexity.
