Australian singer-songwriter Bilby Brave releases her new single, Charcoal & Chamomile. She wrote it about feeling trapped and overwhelmed, and realizing that sometimes you need to take a leap of faith to move forward. As difficult as change can be, stepping away from what holds you back can be the first step toward finding freedom.
I love the arrangement of this song, with gentle fingerpicking providing its foundation, while subtle synth textures add a soft, drifting quality beneath. Soulful electric guitar fills slip in at just the right moments, and warm violin rounds everything out.
