Pop/soul artist Karen Hardy originally from New Jersey, brought her stirring hooks to Nashville in 2017, where she has continued developing her own style.
Her latest single, Boy, tackles a difficult subject. Written from the perspective of a best friend confronting the people who chose to stay close to someone accused of sexual assault, the song calls out the silence, excuses, and loyalty that can cause further harm. At its heart, it’s also an attempt to make people who have found themselves in similar situations feel seen and validated.
Karen brings a strong emotional presence to the track, giving the lyrics the directness they demand. Her vocal delivery balances intensity and vulnerability.
