Singer-songwriter Hutton, originally from Telluride, Colorado, has always used music as a way to process emotions and put into words what can be difficult to express otherwise. Her latest single, fuck up my life, comes from a deeply personal place, exploring the complex feelings of watching her dad start a new family during her adulthood after growing up in an abusive home.
The production is poppy and features memorable musical moments, especially during the chorus. Hutton’s bright vocals sit beautifully on top of the striking textures, making them so impactful all the way through.
