A few days ago, Maddie Zahm released Meryl, from her third album Everything All The Time. It follows the singer with an older person who makes it clear that things are casual, but that doesn’t exactly stop her from wanting more. She jokes about the age difference, pushes back against the idea that she’s “too young,” and clearly expresses how she feels.
Meryl has a cool twangy-pop feel, relying on acoustic guitar, drums, bass, percussion, keyboard electric guitar, synths, and playful backing vocals. The production has plenty of character, especially in the cheeky “hell yeah” moment on the bridge.
Meryl will make you reach for the repeat button before the song even ends. Check it out below!
