Australian talent Anya Anastasia shares Takayna, the fifth single from her upcoming album Everspring. Named after an ancient rainforest in Lutruwita (Tasmania), the song celebrates the incredible web of life that fills the forest, from the treetops to the underground network of mycelium. It also draws attention to the threats posed by logging and mining, celebrating the activists fighting to protect this precious ecosystem.
Takayna has a vibrant, richly layered sound filled with unexpected harmonies, intricate melodies and danceable rhythms. Anastasia’s melismatic vocals flow freely over the driving guitars. Live field recordings captured above and below ground in the rainforest bring the natural environment directly into the music. You’ll by impressed by everything you hear.
Anastasia really does something unique in Takayna. Check it out below!
